A Soul’s Noise is a haunting new essay about the poet Marina Tsvetaeva, who lived and wrote through the horrors of the Russian Revolution and famine. Kaminsky, who undertook a new translation of her writing alongside Jean Valentine, ponders the impossibility of translating not only her poetry, but its transcendence of language itself. Ilya’s essay is accompanied by drawings from artist Sanya Kantarovsky.
